There are plenty of beautiful little villages and lots of other activities to enjoy. During the summer there is a weekly village festival in Maria Alm with music and entertainment. From September all the villages celebrate the “Bauernherbst“, with lots of local produce and the cows returning from the mountain for the winter.

Salzburg is only one hour drive from Haus Salzburg and has lots to offer for a day trip. It is well known for being the birth place of Mozart and there are many museums paying tribute to his work. Salzburg is a beautiful city with some lovely cafes, lots of shops, fantastic architecture and even a Zoo.

Or you could drive to Taxenbach (35min) and enjoy a day out on the river rafting. Not too expensive and great fun.

There is a high rope course in Maria Alm suitable for all ages, the largest Icecaves in the world in Werfen (45min drive), a lovely spa in Bad Gastein and a brand new spa in Kaprun, the Krimml Waterfalls – Europes largest waterfalls and so on, lots of places to see and to explore.
